Now if you've never seen the Star Wars Holiday Special, take an hour and embrace the cursedness this holiday season and just settle in.
"A longstanding Wookiee tradition, Life Day celebrates the values and tenets of Wookiee culture, including family, joy, and harmony. While Life Day is a celebration traditionally held at the Tree of Life on Kashyyyk and observed by extended Wookiee families, Wookiees throughout the galaxy still mark the day.
When Wookiees were enslaved by the Empire, the holiday took on an even greater significance. Today, people from planets across the galaxy have embraced this tradition and made it their own by celebrating with festive décor, twinkling string lights, unique food and drink items, music, and activities.
People share the hopes of celebrating freedom, harmony, and peace, no matter how different people may appear. At the end of the day, everyone gathers to sing songs and be reminded of their dedication, courage, and love for one another. This is the promise of the Tree of Life."

"When I first played Star Wars Galaxies all those years ago, Jazletta made the best weapons. People would come from far and wide to find Jazz. It wasn't that the stats were better, or that her selection was the best. It was the personal care and attention she took with each customer.
I've since heard from others that the player behind Jazletta has passed on. That's normal. That's the future we'll all eventually embrace. But for moments, Jazletta was connected to complete strangers via an MMO, through a universe we know and love. She labeled her weapons [JAZZ], so you could tell. She hung out in the Cantina. She ran for mayor. She will be missed.
Star Wars Galaxies is just a game, but the social connections we make through it are not. The heart of what we have here is special, and we should hold it in special regard. Happy holidays."

Thank you to the community for their many years of faith in the project and wish everyone happy holidays and a happy New Year. I always look back on how SWG mesmerized me at a young age, having never really played an RPG but being a huge star wars fan the mysterious world full of discovery was more than enough to hook me in, I recall seeing my first Jedi in Mos Eisley, it was night time in the game and his lightsabers glow reflecting on the walls was mind blowing, I had to figure out the mysteries of this game and how to become a Jedi myself, and the rest is history.

It's been a hell of a year for us, and we couldn't do it without the tireless work of the Development team. The team made huge strides in 2023 with major updates to combat and releasing new content, but 2024 is going to be the best year yet for SWG Restoration. Once the enormous task of Jedi implementation is finally finished, it will be very cool to see what direction the project goes and what great new content is released."

The Restoration journey has sure been something I’ll remember for a long, long time. I used to think it was just gonna be trauma I would need to bury, but we recently did some reminiscence on the staff of the full history, the ups and downs, the drama and the miracles the server has been through. A surprising amount of content was created in Star Wars Galaxies that was inspired by the Star Wars Holiday Special. Wanted to highlight just a few here but be on the look out for many many more items in game and where they appear in the TV special.
Possibly the most disturbing is the chair which displays 'stimulating' content for its observer.
Although a notorious drop from Rare Loot Chests, the scene in the special mimics quite exactly the family painting in game.

Life Day Trees are located in the following cities:
Quest givers either have you collecting presents for the Life Day Tree (Rebels) or destroying presents (Imperials). Look for the following NPCs (/target Oolovv if you can't find them, for example).
After running around and to all of the piles of Life Day Presents, your score will be tallied and given Tokens to cash in. This year's highlight is the Kashyyyk Tree House Deed but many unique rewards such as the Proton Chair, Life Day Presents, Kashyyykian Fireplace, or Hanging Lamps are there as well.
This quest line rewards the STAP-1 vehicle and is given out by Wookiee friend Saun Dann. Travel around Naboo and Tatooine until eventually making your way to Watto in Mos Espa.
Make sure you claim your present from the Life Day tree while you're there! More on that below.

The Planet of Scarif ornament is in honor of a planet that is no more. One of the first planets destroyed by Empire.
In white or red, these jammies are the hit of the holiday season and can be worn by Ithorians and Wookiees alike!
This year the designers took extra care in making something unique for players.
